This past winter and this spring have brought many viruses to many people. Having a cold or not feeling well can impede your desire to workout or just walk. “As long as you don’t have a fever. Fever is the limiting factor,” quoted by Lewis G. Maharam, MD, a New York City-based sports medicine expert. As told to WedMD, “The danger is exercising and raising your body temperature internally if you already have a fever, because that can make you even sicker,”If you have a fever greater than 101 degrees Fahrenheit, sit this one out.
This morning I didn’t have a fever, but a slight lingering cold than can make you not want to move. lol! With it being a Monday morning, I knew I had to start the day with something. I chose Yoga. I love Sun Salutations, so I performed 6 and then did more stretching. After breakfast I did a 2 mile walk. I felt much better with more energy than I had when I first woke up! Walking is a great way to get the heart pumping, and the mind clearer, plus just about anyone can walk! Never underestimate the value of walking. It works your big muscle group (which helps to burn fat), gets your heart pumping, (for your cardio) and helps clear the cobwebs in your mind that make you feel foggy. So don’t give in to a non-fever virus, tell them who is boss!
