
It has come to that time when I need to begin running before the sun comes up. Great 4 miles this am but it felt like I was running in a sauna. Running before the sun comes up or just before is a real treat. You get a glimpse of the new day beginning while others are sleeping or in the shower! Today was a great run, walk and backwards walking. Absolutely nothing ached on the ole bod! It felt amazing. My last run I had a few pains I had to deal with, but today I felt like it was my 20 year old body again. I have found that getting older (and I am now 51) you will feel different aches in different parts of your body! I don’t feel any older in my mind, but sometimes my body wants to tell me different. So with that being said, it is so important to exercise and stretch on a daily basis. If you do both of these, it will be easier to stay flexible or even become more flexible. Alternating my cardio and yoga and stretching works well for me. On my days that I do yoga I also do weights. If you like to do weights everyday, that is fine as long as you do upper body one day and lower body the next day. Of course if you are using your own body as resistance, as you do in Yoga, you can do that everyday, what I’m talking about is free weights or weight machines.
