Wow! That is all I can say! I have been concentrating on my running and walking backwards to shed pounds, which I have been pleased about, but I have not been as faithful with my yoga and strength training as I should have been. Looking in the mirror I can tell my upper body is not looking as strong as it was and as sculpted. This morning I did my yoga routine and it really surprised me how my balance was off and my strength was lacking. It does not take long to lose what you have worked so hard for. During this past winter I had a wicked virus that kept me from feeling like running or cardio exercises. But I was very faithful with my yoga. I increased my flexibility, strength and balance. From now on I am keeping yoga in my weekly routine, along with my weight training. My running is great for me, but for me, it is also important I don’t neglect my yoga, which helps my body feel strong and stretched out. Keep a lot of stretching and strength training as a part of any exercise routine. Cardio is necessary exercise for your heart and it helps burns calories, but don’t neglect strength training or try incorporating yoga. There are plenty of beginning yoga DVDs out there to choose from. I am a beginning yoga student and look forward to learning more advanced moves as I go along.
Happy Friday! Make it a great weekend with laughter, exercise and fun. We all need to take a break from our stresses during the week and give ourselves a little treat on the weekend.
