Monday morning and anticipation of Monday can bring on the blues. Don’t let that happen to you. Exercise is the key to fight the blues. That’s what I did today. Woke up and knew I was not going to take any excuses from myself to not get myself out the door to do my running and backwards walking routine. I walked a half mile, while catching up with my BFF on the phone then hung up with her and I was off. My running felt strong and longer strides too. My routine right now is to walk fast backwards about 1/4 mile then run 1/4 mile. Grab a quick sip of water then onto backwards walking then running. My hamstring no longer hurts when I run (which I had been struggling with since December) and my strides are now longer. I love my walking backwards and I am so glad I have incorporated it into my routine. I was actually stopped by one of my retired neighbors today wanting to know why I was walking backwards and what did it do. I was able to spread the word that walking backwards works your abs more and is easier on your joints. I told my neighbor he should try it! I did 4 miles today with a mile walk cool down. Now my mind is ready to tackle today. We all have our own struggles going on and I am not excluded from this. Exercise keeps me thinking positive and helps me push away negative thoughts and keeps me from feeling depressed. Do some sort of exercise that involves cardio and you too can then think more positively and flush the negativity from your mind. Try it today! 🙂
