I have been amazed at how my hard work through the Spring is still working for me even at times when I am not working as hard. Why do I think this is? My metabolism! I have increased my metabolism and therefore my body is maintaining my weight loss and losing a few more pounds! I have not been as diligent to my workouts as I was during the Spring, although I have not been stagnant either! I have kept up with my Yoga, stretching and walking. My running has been a little tamer than I would like it to be, but that will change shortly. I also plan to get more weight training in as having more muscle burns more calories.
It is wonderful how great I feel, how much energy I have and how my clothes just slip on and look great now! Hard work does pay off. It doesn’t always happen as fast as we would like, but fast is not necessarily the best way. Taking the weight off at a good pace by cutting back on what you eat and increasing your activity is the healthiest way to become a new you! It’s never to late to start being more active. It doesn’t matter how old you are, you can do it! The key is starting and maintaining a regular schedule of some sort. Pick what you can handle and stick to it. Remember, even 2 days a week at 30 minutes are better than no days. Of course, 3-5 days a week is best. Happy Monday!
