Today in Charleston, SC it’s a rainy and damp Sunday. Not a great day for getting my walks/steps in. My husband and I did a mile first thing this morning with our sweet pup ,Misty. It wasn’t raining. but it was definitely damp, the kind that goes right through to your bones! On rainy days like this I get my miles while walking in my house. My dog thinks I’m a little crazy, she will walk, run or jump around me. A quick “leave it” usually gets her inline and back to her cozy bed. Lol! I have a little route through my house that I do. Sure it’s a little repetitive, but once your get use to it you will be doing the miles in your house. My husband and my youngest son always pace when they talk on the phone. In fact one time they were talking to each other and then realized they had both walked 2 miles while talking to each other!
I like to listen to different podcasts while I walk. Listening to a book is also an option, although it’s not for me, I would rather read a book than listen to it, but to each its own! Whatever will keep you walking is the thing to do! And of course, music is always great to walk to!
It’s amazing how an hour can go by just walking in your house while listening to interesting podcasts. Lately I have been listening to “Smartness” with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett. The three of those guys together are quite amusing! They have a lot of great guests on their show. Give it a listen!
Today I am breaking the Podcast up one mile at a time. I find it nice sometimes to walk a mile and then get back to my work or whatever I need to do. It keeps me from sitting too long, which we all know now is not good for your health! So if you don’t feel like walking outside for whatever reason, Strut in your Slippers!
