I recently had something come up that was weighing heavily on me. Then I started thinking about the potential issues that could arise as this thing played out. Of course, there was no way I was going to let those issues go unchallenged so I started trying to solve them in my mind. I started getting stressed as I realized I didn’t have enough information to find solutions. Then I realized I didn’t have enough information because they were not real issues. I was using all my energy to try to solve issues that didn’t even exist.
We have to be careful, as we go through our lives, to make sure we don’t spend too much of our energy worrying about things that may never happen. So the next time you start trying to solve all of your potential problems before they even exist, STOP! Solve what you can solve, do what you can do, and move on to the things you enjoy. Don’t ignore your issues, but don’t wallow in them.Use the extra energy you will have by taking a walk, playing a game with your family or grabbing a coffee with a friend.
